About Alpine Atelier
A Small Practice Built on Fiduciary Principle
Established in Prešov in 2011, Alpine Atelier has operated as a dedicated capital protection advisory for private clients and family offices in Slovakia and the wider Central European region.

What Alpine Atelier Does, in Plain Language
Alpine Atelier is a fee-only capital protection advisory practice based in Prešov, Slovakia. We work with private individuals, couples, and family offices whose net investable wealth exceeds €500,000 and who want a structured, professionally documented approach to preserving that wealth across time and across generations. Our work falls into four service areas: risk management analysis, insurance wrapper structuring, legal holding arrangements, and ongoing fiduciary advisory mandates. In each case, our output is written, signed, and retained — we do not give verbal-only advice. The charcoal-gold palette of our practice reflects something deliberate: the solidity of structure, the precision of accountability. We are not a product-sales operation. We do not earn commissions, and we do not accept referral income from product providers. Our only financial relationship is with the clients who engage us directly.
Who We Serve, How We Work, and Where We Practice
Our typical client is a Slovak or Central European private individual aged between 45 and 70, often with a business background, who has accumulated meaningful wealth and is now more concerned with protecting it than growing it aggressively. We serve clients based primarily in eastern Slovakia — Prešov, Košice, and surrounding regions — but also work with clients in Bratislava and, by mandate, across other EU countries where Slovak law governs the primary assets. We operate as a micro-practice by design: our roster is capped at 40 active client families. We completed 17 new client engagements between 2020 and 2024. Each client has a named lead advisor with direct contact access. We do not use call centres, automated advice tools, or junior staff as the primary client relationship. Our process begins with a complimentary 45-minute introductory call, proceeds to a paid scoping assessment (delivered within 10 business days), and then to a formal engagement letter before any substantive advisory work begins. We are not the right partner for clients who want aggressive return targets, active trading, or guaranteed outcomes — and we say so clearly at the first meeting.
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions most prospective clients ask before their first call.
Is Alpine Atelier a licensed investment manager?
No. We are an advisory practice, not a discretionary portfolio manager or regulated investment firm under MiFID II. We provide written strategic advice and fiduciary mandates. Execution of investment decisions remains with your existing custody provider or fund manager.
What is the minimum engagement size?
We work with clients whose net investable assets (excluding primary residence) are at least €500,000. Below this level, the benefit of formal structuring and fiduciary oversight rarely justifies the retainer cost, and we will tell you that directly.
Do you offer advice in Slovak as well as English?
Yes. Our team works comfortably in both Slovak and English. All formal advisory letters and mandate documents can be issued in either language or bilingual format according to your preference.
How long does an initial engagement take?
The scoping assessment phase typically takes three to six weeks, depending on the complexity of your holdings and the speed of document provision. A full fiduciary advisory mandate is a multi-year relationship — we do not offer one-off reviews as a standalone product.
